Minor Racer - Info for Racers Under 18 yrs. old: Requirements for riders under 18... (EXAMPLE FORM ONLY) The AMA, our insurance carrier, and common sense require a parent or legal guardian to sign up a minor rider. For legal purposes, we need a liability release and a minor release form filled out by your parent(s). For safety’s sake, you need your parent(s) with you in case you're hurt and need medical treatment. If your parent can’t come with you, there is a way to ride, but you should be prepared before coming to the track. You need to bring two (2) copies of a notarized permission note from your parent. One for us to keep and one to take to the hospital with you in case of an emergency. Here's a generic version of what the note should say:"My son Joe Smith has my permission to ride motocross at Bay Racing’s Little Valley Motocross Park on May 5, 2002. In addition, I give permission to Sam Johnson [an adult] to sign all liability, release and registration forms at the track and to give consent for medical treatment of Joe Smith if needed." __________________________________ Parent or Legal Guardian Signature __________________________________ Notary Public Signature And Seal Please don’t make us turn you away because you did not bring the proper forms. We hate to disappoint any rider, but your safety is our first concern. In the example, Sam Johnson is someone 18 or over who will be at the track with you all day. Refund & Late Sign-In Policy SIGN UP CLOSES at 10:30am for morning classes, and 1:30pm for afternoon classes. We will not allow late sign in if we're running behind schedule, however if time allows we will sign you in for a $10.00 late fee, which goes to the banquet fund. Late sign in holds up the start of the race day. On occasions when we hold practice up due to conditions, we will post the amended sign up closing time. ONCE PRACTICE STARTS, THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS. At this point, paperwork is complete; purses and awards have been calculated. Race Day Awards
